Fellowship

The Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellowships are funding opportunities offered by the European Commission to post-doctoral researchers who wish to carry out their research activities abroad, acquire new skills, and develop their careers. The aim of the scheme is to support researchers’ careers and foster excellence in research.

They involve a demanding and highly competitive application process, which may deter early career researchers who can rarely spend so much time on project proposal writing. However, the space and freedom they offer to plan your research activities without mandatory teaching is a rare and rewarding experience, thus a good incentive.

For further information and how to apply, see the EC webpage on Marie Skłodowska-Curie post-doctoral fellowships

Host

Having an enthusiastic supervisor and an ideal host institution is a big part of a successful fellowship. I am lucky enough to have Prof. Louisa Parks to guide me, and the School of International Studies of the University of Trento in Italy to offer support and inspiration in a truly interdisciplinary environment.

Why it’s a good idea to choose the School of International Studies as your host institution!
